Rocks

Hello Everyone,

You are probably wondering why I asked you for rocks awhile back. Well last Saturday I finally figured out why. The entire referral Center Mission went to a church building and we painted the rocks. I painted my rock the top blue, and the bottom yellow. On the blue side I put an S on it, and it always reminds me that Jesus Christ is the rock of my salvation.

The rock that I painted

Something I have been pondering about this week has been about temptation and adversity in our lives. We experience a lot of temptation in our lives and sometimes we don't recognize it as such. I believe that focusing can be one of our best friends as we strive to become more like Jesus Christ. I heard a quote in a BYU speech that I was listening to that was really good. It says, "Work when it is time to work and play when it is time to play." This to me says that as we strive to become more like Jesus Christ we will need to do everything we can, however we are mortals and we need rest, and that is okay.

I know that we are not alone as we go through this life. We have heaven's help on our side. I know that Jesus performed the Atonement so that we can be saved and can live with our heavenly family again. I know that this gospel is true, and that The Book of Mormon is the word of God. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

This week has been a really good week. Elder Knudsen had an adventure at the Emergency Room. Elder Knudsen was feeling a bit sick so we went to the health clinic at the M.T.C. and they told us to go to the emergency room. When we got to the hospital they had Elder Knudsen lie down on a bed and they just did tests on him. I got to ponder for a few hours while I was there which was really refreshing. I got to think about what kind of person I am hoping to be and what I need to do to become that person.

Emilita's baptism

Emilita got baptized! I never had a formal lesson with her, but I am still really excited because along the way I was able to give her encouragement along with Melony who is a friend of Emilita's. So that is special.

We found another investigator named Tiffany who is in South Carolina. We have already had two meetings with her and both of them went super great. She is a young Mother and she really wants to know Jesus Christ better.

Even though Victoria dropped us we have still been keeping in contact with her. She told us this week that she has a baptismal date for June 11 so that is also really exciting!

Elder Heaps went home this week

Well I hope that everyone had a great week and they have an even better one coming up.

Love,

Elder Stevenson

P.S. I started using the desk organizer and it has helped keep my desk really organized. Thank you so much for it!
