Two Months Down

Mi Familia,

My week went like this:

Sunday 04/09/2017

All the Referral Center missionaries attended an E.S.L. Ward in the morning. It was super cool. We got to hear from missionaries that originally didn't speak English bear their testimonies. In the afternoon Elder Savoie and I went to the 259th Ward and heard all the singles bear their testimonies. In the third Hour we had a BYU professor come in and teach us about how to best help someone who is struggling with pornography. It was cool to get both the professor's and the singles' insights on the matter.

We went on exchanges today. I was with Elder Schwendiman. It was super awesome. We taught a girl from Germany over the phone and her name is Astrid. We talked about the sacrament and why we don't use wine. She asked about whether we thought the bread was actually Jesus Christ's body or if it was just symbolic. I thought that was a really good question, so we were able to talk about the symbolism of it. We then moved to the Priesthood and what it was. Astrid had been reading pamphlets on the priesthood so she knew a little bit of what it was. She knew there was two levels of Priesthood authority so we filled in the gaps for her. Taking referral confirmations with Elder Schwendiman was super cool because we didn't treat them like strangers. We were able to talk to them as if we were their friends. we listened to them, prayed with them, and taught them. P.S. A Referral Confirmation is when somebody orders a Bible or a Book of Mormon on Mormon.org. We get to clarify their address if they have one, and if they don't we have to ask for it, and then we ask if they want to learn more.

Tuesday 04/11/2017

Today Elder Savoie and I had our First meeting with Hermano Avila. Hermano Avila is the new teacher I have that will be teaching me Spanish. Elder Savoie doesn't want anything to do with Spanish, so I get to go with Elder Withers every Tuesday and Thursday at three o clock. Anyway, Elder Valeri V. Cordon spoke at the MTC devotional tonight. I got to shake Elder and Sister Cordon's hands.

Wednesday 04/12/2017

Today we taught Keidi again! it was so awesome!! We read Alma 42 and added her name into the verses. So when ever it said my son, we would say my daughter, Keidi. Also whenever she would read she would read in Estonian which was awesome, Once we got nearer to the end the spirit felt super strong and we could all feel it. I went to the Doctor with Mom, Dad, and Elder Curtis. We spent about three hours together just talking. It was kind of a shock that I was actually talking with them, because you're not normally supposed to do that.

Thursday 04/13/2017

Today we called Michael again. He is doing fantastic. He told us that he takes a Book of Mormon with him wherever he goes. He always has one on the passenger seat of his truck and in the back of his truck. He bore his testimony to us again which was amazing. I went to Spanish with Hermano Avila again. We practiced saying a prayer and translating a scripture, which was helpful. I talked to one of our investigators named Elle for the first time. Elder Savoie taught her for the first time on Monday when I was with Elder Schwendiman. I felt that the lesson went well. I am starting to talk more during lessons which is really beneficial.

Friday 04/14/2017

Elder Savoie and I taught Matylda today. We had a lesson on the Book of Mormon which went well. She received her Book of Mormon today and had already started reading it. She said that she likes it and wants to read more.

Saturday 04/15/2017

Today is my official two month mark. I started at the veil for the first time today and I thought it went really well (Elder Stevenson was called as a veil worker at the Provo temple last week). it was really nice to do temple work and feel the spirit. After we were done with the temple we went to a stake activity where they talked about online missionary work.

I hope everything is going well at home. I know that with each day we can grow, and that God is willing to help us as long as we put our trust in him.

Con amor,

Elder Stevenson
