Prayer Is More Powerful Than A Pill

Hola mi Familia,

It feels like I was just sitting at my desk yesterday. But seriously this week went by super fast. Something that has been on my mind has been the topic of prayer and its importance. When we pray we are literally talking to a Father that loves us immensely. Although we can't see Him this doesn't mean that He isn't watching over us. What is special about prayer is we can tell Him everything that is on our mind and in our heart. I was talking with a woman who wasn't feeling well and I told her that I would keep her in my prayers. She said, "Thank you again.. I don't need anything more than your prayer support.. It's more powerful than a pill." Prayer can truly change hearts and change lives. I invite you all to pray not just the regular way but to actually talk with your Father in Heaven, and listen to what He has to say to you. I know that as you do this you will find more peace and happiness in your life. I also know that you can find more clear answers to the questions that matter to you. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Hugh (right) at his baptism

I don't know if I ever told you about Hugh. I only taught him like two or three times, but he was always super awesome. He is an excommunicated person but has such great faith. He just got re-baptized, and it was such a happy experience for me and for all those that taught him although all of them are off their missions now.

I taught in a few places that I have not taught before this week. I taught in Liberia, Rwanda, Trinidad and Tobago, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Stewart Falls trail

Elder Woodruff and I got a referral for the fiancé of Aderonke who was someone who I found with Elder Woodruff about a year ago. His name is Jimoh and he is not a member but he wants to get sealed in the temple to Aderonke so we are teaching him and it has been super awesome. They are both from Nigeria and really amazing.

Elder Woodruff and I went on a hike today and we hiked the Stewart Falls trail. It really gave me time to appreciate all the amazing things that God has given me. As well we were able to talk which was really fun.

Elder Stevenson and Elder Woodruff

We finished contacting all the people from Facebook that had liked and commented on our posts so we went on teaching center. We were doing referral confirmations and to make it not as dull and repetitive we would give each other words that we had to use. Elder Woodruff gave me praise, and Hallelujah, also the word potato to use in referral confirmations which was interesting. Elder Woodruff was ready to call someone and he said alright what is my word? I quickly said french fries. So he talked about feasting on the word like we feast on french fries. her name was Odyssey and she was actually interested in learning more so we set up a time for this Monday to talk. I think that that word was inspired of God because as we went to her Facebook profile we saw that she worked at McDonald's.

Well that is all for today. Thank you for all your emails and prayers. I hope that you have a great rest of your week and a good upcoming one.

Love,

Elder Stevenson
